IT Lead - Temenos T24

The IT Lead / IT Custodian for the Temenos platform is a key leadership role responsible for managing both the technical and people aspects of the Temenos Core Banking system within the organization. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on technical expertise to ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of the Temenos platform. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of the Temenos system, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record in managing both people and technology.


Responsibilities
 
Technical Management
  • Platform Oversight: Lead the administration, configuration, and management of the Temenos Core Banking platform, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • System Maintenance: Oversee routine maintenance, upgrades, patches, and performance tuning of the Temenos system to ensure stability and security.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues within the Temenos environment, including the core banking system, associated middleware, and integrations.
  • Security Management: Ensure compliance with all security protocols and manage system access, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive data and functions.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans specific to the Temenos platform, including regular testing and updates.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with Temenos and other third-party vendors to manage contracts, support issues, and system enhancements.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
People Management:
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, developers, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure the successful delivery of projects and ongoing platform management.
  • Training & Development: Identify skill gaps within the team and develop training plans to ensure that team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and provide feedback to team members to support their professional growth and development.
Project Management
  • Project Oversight: Lead and manage projects related to the Temenos platform, including system upgrades, new module implementations, and integration projects.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and reporting on project status, risks, and milestones.
  • Budget Management: Manage the budget for the Temenos platform, including forecasting, monitoring expenses, and reporting on financial performance.
Strategic Planning
  • Platform Roadmap: Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for the Temenos platform, aligning it with the organization’s business objectives and IT strategy.
  • Innovation: Identify and evaluate new technologies and best practices that could enhance the performance, security, and scalability of the Temenos platform.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to the Temenos platform and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Qualifications 
 
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
Experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of experience managing the Temenos platform or similar core banking systems.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams, with a focus on both technical delivery and people management.
  • Hands-on experience with Temenos T24 or R17, including system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Skills
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the Temenos platform, including core modules, system architecture, and integration points.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve their goals.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Security: Knowledge of IT security practices and the ability to implement and maintain robust security measures within the Temenos environment.
Certifications
  • Relevant certifications in Temenos, ITIL, Project Management (PMP), or similar are highly desirable.
