The challenges that await you

Under the authority of your immediate supervisor, you act as a super-user and provide operational support for a set of systems and applications in your area of expertise, ensure ongoing training for business users and other process experts in your administrative unit, and coordinate within your service regarding the definition and development of various maintenance, evolution, and transformation needs of the technology solutions for which your service is responsible.

You validate and monitor data integrity and ensure quality and relevance for the systems and applications in your area of expertise. You are also required to monitor and coordinate various access requests to the technology solutions you support.

You produce various management reports, feed dashboards, and participate in a range of large-scale projects in the development, integration, and implementation of solutions and technological platforms in your business area.

Finally, you coordinate activities related to business process mapping and participate in their optimization.

More specifically, you will be called to:
  • As an expert, advise service users on the use of systems and applications in your area of expertise.
  • Be responsible for the development and modification of various management reports and dashboards to meet recurring or one-time needs. Provide support to users who generate and/or consult certain reports themselves.
  • Conduct a preliminary analysis of issues and/or anomalies reported by users of the systems and applications in your area of expertise, propose solutions, make corrections as needed, or solicit the contribution of the Innovation and Technology Service or service providers. Follow up on resolutions to various issues, problems, and/or anomalies related to business priorities.
  • Analyze change requests, modifications, and/or additions to the systems and applications in your area of expertise, propose solution pathways in support of business processes, and actively participate in testing to ensure quality of technology solutions from a business and user perspective. Ensure integration and follow up on approved changes, modifications, and additions related to business priorities.
  • Coordinate all steering activities and represent your administrative unit regarding maintenance, evolution, and transformation projects of the systems and applications in your area of expertise to ensure optimal performance and operational quality of the systems.
  • Participate in design file validation workshops with users.
  • Validate, analyze, and monitor the integrity and consistency of system data, perform data maintenance activities, make necessary corrections, and ensure appropriate communications with all stakeholders to ensure data integrity and confidentiality and the proper functioning of applications.
  • Analyze and coordinate various service requests, access requests to the technology solutions of your service, and needs for IT equipment and software.
Furthermore, you will be called to
  • Ensure the maintenance of logging of various actions (addition, removal, deletion, etc.) regarding access and permissions and access to the systems and applications of your service while ensuring compliance with the City’s current information security policy.
  • Act as a consultant expert in issues concerning work processes, analyze the targeted process, produce the mapping, and submit improvement solutions to be made.
  • Coordinate activities surrounding the business process mapping of the Service: develop and update the work plan, initiate communications, and organize working workshops.
  • Exercise technical and professional supervision: provide advice and explain to your colleagues the methods and procedures, the application of certain directives or policies.
  • Develop and disseminate training and information programs to various users of existing information systems and during the implementation of new systems.
  • Update procedures specific to applications and communicate to all users the additions and/or modifications made to instructions and procedures.
  • Organize and participate in meetings, discussions, or encounters with employees from other divisions or City Services and/or representatives from external organizations to examine problems within your area of expertise and find appropriate solutions.
  • Periodically write and submit any relevant working document or report to your supervisor.

The ideal profile for us
  • Education acquired through a bachelor's degree in administration – concentration in information systems, bachelor's degree in management information systems, or any other relevant field;
  • Possess four (4) years of relevant experience for the position.
